Life in the Big City

Well this is my city....Indianapolis. It's the capitol of Indiana.
The population is about 3 million (last time I checked). Thats about the size of Huzhou.
It's really a great place...very clean.
We have a canal (like a river) running through it.
It's a great place to ride bikes, go for a run or just take a walk.

This is a monument in the very center of the city.

It has lots of water fountains around the bottom of it.

This is the Arts Garden. They have small free concerts and art show here.

This is the inside of the Arts Garden.

Here is a picture of the inside of the Circle Center Mall.
While posting these pictures one thing jumped out at me(That means that I noticed something).
Translation for my Chinese friends.
The lack of people...After being in a country with so many people, it seems so strange to be in the middle of the city and not be cramped by people.

This is SOOO different than any of the Chinese food that I ate in China.
By the way, I've been home for almost 3 months now and haven't had Chinese food once.
Not even a bowl of rice or chicken head!

There are a couple of mastodon statues down by the canal.
Here Sydney is hanging out with the mastodon.
A mastodon is a prehistoric elephant.

That's Jimmy hanging on the tail

Air Show

Last week I went to an air show at a small local airport.
It was my first time to visit one of these shows live. I've seen them before on TV.
They had small acrobatic planes that could do loops and fly upside down....crazy stuff!

Military helicopters.

This is my friend Chris Stein... I've known him since we were small children.
His daughter is in the band and he volunteered to help sell drinks at the air show to raise money for the band.
I asked him if they needed any more help and he said "SURE".
So this is where we hung out and watched the show.

Some of the planes were so cool...this one can take off without a runway.

Here is a guy parachuting from a plane and then dangling an American flag from his legs.
It was a HUGE flag!

You could take a walk inside some of the planes.

These jet are called the Blue Angeles.
They are very famous....and very loud!!

And helicopters flying in unison.

I live near a huge park.
It's great being near the park...they have horseback riding and deer everywhere!
Sydney loves it. Here she is collecting acorns (nuts).

It also has swings and slides for the kids.

Jimbo loves the slides!!

Well it seems my China blog for my American friends and family has turned into an American blog for my Chinese friends and family.

Hope you all enjoy the pictures and I miss you all.
