Gloria and the Frozen Shoulder

Well I haven't posted anything new on my blog recently...not much new happening.

Until today!

Gloria is in China!

Well, last Monday my girlfriend Gloria came to China to visit me.
Bill drove me to Shanghai to pick her up Monday after school.
We didn't get in until almost 2am.

She brought me some of my favorite things from America...well at least some things that I can't find here in China....Butterfinger candy bars...Mac-and-Cheese...Coast soap...Microwaveable popcorn...my size socks.

Gloria was born in Korea and moved to L.A. when she was 14, so she is familiar with Asian culture...and pretty darn good with a set of chopsticks.

Tuesday we went shopping at the fear factor market...bought some fruit and vegetables. She was a little put off by the meat and poultry so we went to the regular grocery store afterwards and bought a few things.

I took her to my favorite place to eat...Ma La Tang!! She loved it!

Here she is with the owner...

We'll probably take a train to Xi'an next week and we're also talking about going to Tibet if we have the time.

Today we went into town and had Hot Pot.
A couple of kids from the school took our picture while we waited on the taxi.

Then we had lunch at the Hot Pot place...one of my favorite places to eat!

This nice couple sitting next to us took our picture...She spoke a little English.

Her mom didn't.

Frozen Shoulder
Not to be confused with the cold shoulder!

Well for the past few months I've had a very sore shoulder...I'm not one to complain, but after a while the pain got so bad that last week I went to the Hospital.
The Dr. gave me some Celebrex and some Chinese herb medicine and told me to take it and come back if it didn't get better.

Yesterday I went back...Ancient Chinese medicine didn't seem to help.
This time they took an X-ray...
They didn't see anything wrong so the just gave me some different Chinese medicine and some more Celebrex.
When we got home Gloria started doing some research on-line and found several different things that it might be. As I started looking over the symptoms I found one that I believe is what I have.
It's called Frozen Shoulder.
Here is the frozen shoulder website.

Here's my X-ray.

Not too much I can do about it...just do some exercises and take some medication for the pain.
As much as it hurts I'm just glad to know that it isn't something more serious!
I was afraid I might have to leave China early to have it looked at.
Don't want to do that!!
