Kung Fu II

Today I went to meet up with my friends Eric and Jaer for lunch.
During lunch we decided to go to the Kung Fu school to visit Irene and check out the school.
They are in the middle of building onto the school.
The new addition includes a temple and a learning center that is more like a museum.

But that didn't stop the school from it's daily routine.

We went to visit Irene, but she had gone into Changxing for the day.
The lady on the left is May. She is an English teacher here and took us on a tour of the the place.

Under the building above they have built a series of tunnels and exhibits.
The workers were still in the process of making it look like a cave.

And they were doing a great job too.

Lost of different exhibits.

And then you come out under this huge artificial tree.

May said that they will probably be finished by the end of May.

All of the students live here. This is one of the dorms. Not too fancy...and no heat.

This group of kids were doing their daily exercises when we showed up. One of the guys in charge wanted to get some pictures of the kids with the foreigners.

Gotta warm up!

This is an older group.

This little guy was amazing...3 feet tall and he could probably kick my butt!

This little girl was so cute. I went to take here picture and her teacher said something in Chinese and "boom"...leg up!

Another instructor showing..."This is how it's done".

This may have been the last picture Eric took with this camera. After we got back to Changxing
he couldn't find it and realized that he must have dropped it in the mini-van on the way back.
He was only mad because he had taken a lot of great photo's that he will never get to see.

You can see beautiful Ti lake in the background.

I'm thinking they had a good time.
I did!

Some of the kids were joking with us and not concentrating on what they were doing.
The teacher took care of that!

Don't smile....don't smile...!

Getting a leg up, with a little help from a friend...OUCH!

The girls could stand like this for hours...I bet.

It was a very interesting day but eventually we had to say "Goodbye".

When we got back, we met up with the new teachers in town.
This is Joy and Owen.
We all went out to have "Hot Pot" and then to a local bar for a couple of drinks.

Owen with some new Chinese friends...

I left early because I was out the night before with the headmaster of my school and about 100 other teachers at my school.
We had a huge dinner and drank too much as usual, so I wasn't in a drinking mood.
Plus the music was just too darn loud for me.
I must be getting old...LOL
