Pictures Are Back !!
Ok...I got my computer back...Thank God!!
I have a bunch of pictures from the past week or so.
Here you go!
Last week some friends took me to the country. Guess where we went?
You got it...The Buddhist Temple.
I got to visit my old friend..."The Monk".
He had shake a container with little wooden sticks in it till one fell out. Then he told my future with the number on the stick...#22.
This is the little book with the numbers meanings.
He said it was the luckiest number...they probably all are...
Anyway...He said I had a very bright future.
He also gave me a calender!
More Chinese friends.
Afterwards we went to a house in the country for tea.
What a wonderful view!!
Cute Chinese girls...Don't worry Gloria!
This woman was cooking dinner.
While this woman was stoking the fire...with wood and dog poop.
Really!
Then we headed out to dinner.
At a great little outdoor restaurant.
Cheers!
One good picture deserves another.
I also have a new favorite place to eat in Changxing. It's the place Mike and Aaron took me for soup. I can't get enough of this stuff!
This is the owner.
First you grab a basket and pick out the things you want in your soup.
Veggies, meat, noodles and quail eggs are my favorites.
This is inside the refrigerator...Meat, eggs...Even fish and shrimp.
Honestly I don't know what half the stuff is.
Then you take it over and pay for it...usually no more that a buck or two.
Then...(I can't even pronounce his name) he drops it all into a strainer in a vat of hot water and cooks it all up.
The meat...usually beef, pork or mutton is on sticks.
Then you can add garlic, onions or even spice it up some more with the stuff in the bowl on the bottom left...It's usually spicy enough for me as is.
The finished product....So good!!
You can't go wrong with a family business.
These are some new American friends that are teaching here in Changxing.
Robyn and Adam.
Aaron and Eva.
I also started teaching at another school.
Micheal had to leave for a while for personal reasons so Keith from Journey East asked me if I would take his hours while he's gone...I said "Sure"...Anything for a friend!
This is a huge school compared to the private school I've been teaching in.
It's called Changxing Experimental School.
Here the kids are doing their morning exercises.
And then a meeting.
Before this week I was only teaching 16 classes a week. Michael was teaching 24.
Now I'm teaching his 24 plus my 16. That's 40 classes a week. I'm up at 6:30 am and get home at 8:30 pm each night...And dead tired!!
And the classes are huge too...50 kids in each class!
A great school and a great bunch of kids!
Well that's what's been going on here in China.
OK...I'm tired and going to bed!
See you all later!
Jim
