Bull's Penis and Crocodiles

I went to the Rainbow school yesterday for lunch with Nina and the gang.



As they would bring each dish to the table I would ask what it was...the usual stuff...duck, fish,
chicken.



These are just meatballs made from pork...I was afraid to ask what part of the pig they used.



Dumplings



After we had been eating a few minutes they brought in another dish...it looked good.





I asked them what it was and they said"Beef".

So Nina poked around and found a piece that didn't seem to have much fat on it and started eating it. It was very spicy she said.
At that point I remember Bill saying something about his mom buying a bull's penis at the market.
So I asked..."What part of beef is it?"
They searched for the word and said"Peanut".
They meant, penis.
Ohh, the look on her face!
I thought she was going to throw up right there.





At that point I told them that in America we didn't eat bull's penis and that I would pass.

Then they brought in another dish....Nina had seen this before in Germany...You got it, bulls ball's.

Sliced bull testicals...hmmmm!



Again...I'll pass.

After lunch we decided to go visit a crocodile farm in the country.
A Chinese friend of mine said that her uncle worked there.
So after we walked around a bit, uncle found us and took us back where most people couldn't go and showed us around.













He spoke no English but that hasn't kept me from communicating with anybody here yet.
With a little sign language and my handy English/Chinese dictionary we all got each others drift.


Before we left he gave Nina and me a box...I didn't know what was in it but said thank you and they took us to the bus stop nearby.



Then we hopped on a bus for Changxing...this was my first bus ride in China.
This was interesting in it's self.



But not to intresting for this guy!



On the bus I opened up my box and inside was a beautiful tea mug with a crocodile on the side and a monkey on the top...The mugs have lids to keep your tea/coffee hot.

When we got back to town I took Nina to the grocery store to buy a few snack things and then we headed back to the Rainbow school.

Today I took her to the place in town that has the pizza.
She said they had left over bull penis for dinner last night so I figured she was due for some good old western style food.

Just when I think I've seen it all...Bull's penis and testicles for lunch...

Thank God they had chicken on the table!
